We source this intense, elegant wine from our four estates in Stags Leap District. We harvest the vineyards by hand in the cool night hours and age the wine in new French oak. Concentrated and rich, and redolent with flavors of plum, black raspberry, black currant, and cola. The texture is velvety and creamy. Leathery tannins and juicy acidity frame the structure of this balanced, delicious wine. This wine would be the highlight of any dinner party. Try pairing with an aged porterhouse steak with scalloped potatotoes, spring lamb stew with fennel and peas, or our winery chef’s recipe of radicchio risotto.
Crafted from our estate high upon Howell Mountain, this Cabernet Sauvignon is a sweet, ripe fruit entry of cherry, plum, and blackberry fruit combines with notes of vanilla cream and cedar spice. Expansive, mouth filling and weighty, this wine finishes long and firm with toasted oak. This structured Cabernet Sauvignon would be excellent with wild game, roasted venison loin, or roast leg of lamb.
Charmstone represents the full natural magic of our estate vineyards throughout Napa Valley. This deep garnet wine offers a vibrant bouquet of stewed cherry, raspberry, and sweet vanilla with notes of cinnamon stick and toasted clove. The palate displays red plum and raspberry cream flavors with hints of cocoa powder that linger over the velvety finish. Charmstone is a versatile, fruit-forward wine that pairs beautifully with grilled steak or creamy, soft cow’s milk cheeses.
This wine, sourced predominantly from our Stags Leap Vineyard estate, displays intense dark fruit aromas of blackberry preserves, strawberry, and black cherry, with hints of cocoa, espresso, and cinnamon. The well-rounded palate reveals bright red plum and touches of cedar, tobacco, and cherry cordial. Smooth tannins support the fruit character. Enjoy with a hearty winter stew of beef and root vegetables.
The Oakville appellation spans the Napa Valley from the Vaca Mountains in the east to the Mayacamas in the west. Within this storied terroir, our 25-acre Dos Olivos Vineyard—so named for the two stately olive trees that guard its entrance—has moderate temperatures and well-drained gravel and clay soils that yield Cabernet Sauvignon of exceptional structure and balance. The elegant red fruit character, supported by well-integrated tannins, picks up jammy, sweet raspberry and vanilla crème flavors. Inviting nuances of milk chocolate and a silky texture with balanced acidity keep bringing you back to the glass. Additional cellaring will reward the collector.
Since the 1930s, the Rutherford region has been recognized as a source of superlative Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley. With estate vineyards totaling 25 acres within this single appellation, we make the most of the area’s well-drained gravel and loam soils, producing wines of outstanding balance and elegance.
Contemplate is a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and some of the lesser-known Bordeaux-style varieties. It represents our winemaking team’s favorite lots of the vintage, so each year the varietal composition shifts. The wine consistently delivers delicate floral character on the nose, as well as deep cherry aromas that give way to a palate of plum and cranberry—flavors that marry nicely with enticing hints of olive and even bacon. Good acidity makes this wine a natural pairing for hearty duck breast or coq au vin.
